How to reuse Hard Drive after raid?
I have acquired some USCSI 80Pins SCA Hard Drive, they were used in a server under a Raid 5 configuration.
Our company sold the eserver which the hard drive was in so I don't have access to destroy the raid to re-use the drive in windows.
I got SCA to 68pins SCSI so I could use it on a non-raid SCSI card, but I can't initialize it in windows or I can't found anything that I could boot with that will detect the SCSI drive or card so I could wipe it out totally (It is a adaptec AHA-2940UW), I also try killDrive but 5 hours later, it still did nothing.
What could I do, to destroy the raid and reuse the drive? I also have a IBM 2673 PCI raid SCSI card but it don't have a option to boot to a scsi menu to do anything and the card don't have windows driver ever, so I have no idea.
as far as they told me, they have just deleted the date, but not destory the array. BTW.. it was used to store public PDF files anyway
I do not have an answer to your dilemma - but what is a company doing in releasing hard drives that have not been wiped of information?
